How to get to Kapchorwa

Kapchorwa is easier to reach than most people expect.

Over the past years, Eastern Uganda’s road network has improved significantly — including the highways from Jinja, Moroto and Mbale.

Here’s how to reach us comfortably:

🚗 1. By Car (Self-Drive)

From Kampala (3,5-5 hours)

Main route:
Kampala → Jinja → Iganga → Tirinyi → Mbale → Sironko → Kapchorwa

We recommend:
• Leaving before 6am to avoid traffic
• Refueling in Mbale
• Driving carefully after Muyembe (mountain climb)

📍 Our first signpost stands 50 meters after Centenary Bank in Kapchorwa Town.

👉 We will send you a live Google Maps pin after booking.

From Mbale (1,5 hours)

Follow:
Mbale → Sironko → Muyembe → Kapchorwa

Simple and fully tarmacked.

From Suam (Kenya border)

Follow the new Suam-Kapchorwa highway directly to town.
Very scenic and fully paved.

From Moroto

Use the route via Nakapiripirit & Pian Upe (freshly tarmacked)

! Don’t take the Ngenge - Atar climb to Kapchorwa when not having a very strong car.

We’re happy to advise depending on your vehicle.
